A finished shower!
If you have been following me on Instagram, you know that creating the shower in my primary bathroom has been a long and challenging process. Nonetheless, it has been a totally rewarding experience - one that has ended with a beautiful shower that I get to enjoy every single day.
The shower design itself is rather simple - a classic black and white color palette and subway tiled walls. This simplified backdrop allows for the stars of the show to shine - the shower fixtures! Words cannot even describe how beautiful these Jaclo Industries pieces are!
As you may know, my objective for designing and decorating my home is to incorporate as much “old house charm” as possible. When I was looking for shower fixtures, I found a decent amount that fit the look I was going for, but the reviews on the quality were less than favorable. After all the work I was putting into this bathroom - I wasn’t going to use mediocre fixtures that will not withstand the test of time. Then, I found Jaclo and all my needs were met!
Jaclo Industries is actually based in my home state of New Jersey - not far from where I grew up. They are a family owned and operated business that’s been around for over 100 years! Learning that made it clear to me that this company understands quality and the heirloom look I was going for.
Jaclo’s Roaring 20’s collection is everything I wanted for my timeless bathroom design. Each piece is so beautifully designed and looks like something that would have come out of the fanciest new era hotels. The way that their individual shower components can be interchanged allowed me to create a custom shower layout that meets all of my wants and needs. The separate volume control levers, thermostatic knob, and wall bar are special details that give the vintage vibe I love so much. Those pieces totally make this shower.
The polished nickel finish of these pieces is just gorgeous too. Jaclo offers so many different finish options (literally every color of the rainbow- I want a pink faucet now), that it took me some time to decide which finish would be best for my space. I was on the fence of whether or not to use chrome or polished nickel in the bathroom, but I am so glad that I went with polished nickel. It is warm and gives a beautiful shine. I am so in love with it and will never be able to use chrome again.
Aside from aesthetics, the functionality and quality of these Jaclo pieces are top notch. I always loved the way rain shower heads look, but I wasn’t impressed with the water pressure from them. As someone with thick, curly hair, water pressure is everything! Jaclo offers a few different flow rates for their shower heads, and I ultimately went with the 2.5GPM. No regrets - it’s the best shower experience I have ever had. The thermostatic control is also such a cool feature that’s new to me. We set it to our ideal temp and never have to touch it unless the kids use the shower. It’s so nice to know that all I have to do is turn the shower on and it’s going to be my ideal temperature. Simple pleasures, right?
Install was very easy for me. I had all of the valves professionally installed and once I completed tiling, I installed all of the levers, knobs, trim, hand shower hose, slide bar, shower arm, and shower head. All I needed were some plumbers wrenches, and thread sealing tape.
I am so in love with my shower fixtures from Jaclo Industries. They give me the vintage look that I was aspiring for while still giving me the modern function and quality I desired. Someone asked me recently on Instagram, if there is one area I would splurge on when designing a shower what would it be. Hands down - the fixtures.
I will also be using Jaclo fixtures for my bathroom sink, so I will share all of those in a future post.
Here are links to the exact fixtures in my shower. Keep in mind that you will also need the proper valves from Jaclo that correspond with your shower plumbing:
