The bathroom is finally DONE! I have waited 75 weeks to type those words, but who’s counting?

I say this a lot on my Instagram page - home takes time. I have been thinking a lot lately about the pressures and delusions created by social media - specifically Instagram - when it comes to home renovation. I have rushed through so many projects just to get to the end, to get the final photos, to satisfy my brand partnership agreements, but then left with poor craftsmanship, unfinished details, and projects that need to be revisited. I didn’t want to do that this time. I wanted a completely complete and well done space.

As you probably know, I work full time, I have two young children with unbelievably active social calendars, and I like to spend time outside of my home. So, I wasn’t very disciplined with the time I put into this renovation. I made it fit into my life, and not work my life around it. I’m sharing that for the person like me that feels guilty for letting a project fall by the wayside time to time. It’s okay for projects to take a long time!

All in all, I am so proud of myself for doing this. I learned so many new skills, and I feel so much more equipped than I did going in to this project. You never know your limits until you try. Remember that!

I would like to take a minute here to thank my incredible bath fixture partner - Jaclo Industries. These fixtures are the cherry on top of this remodel, and I could not imagine this space with out them - they truly are the perfect, elegant touch to this space. I mean - just look at that polished nickel!!
